The Tennessee Volunteers clinched their inaugural College World Series title by edging out the Texas A&M Aggies 6-5 on Monday in Omaha, Nebraska.
Tennessee became the first top-seeded team since Miami in 1999 to capture the NCAA championship.
After dropping the opening game, Tennessee rallied to claim both Game 2 and the decisive Game 3 of the series.
Outfielder Dylan Dreiling earned the Most Outstanding Player of the College World Series accolade, powered by his home run contributions in each encounter against Texas A&M. He distinguished himself as the sole player in the event’s history to achieve this feat.
Dreiling’s stellar performance also earned him a spot on the All-Tournament team alongside teammates Christian Moore, Dean Curley, and Zander Sechrist.
