Real Madrid managed to secure a 1-1 draw against Las Palmas on Thursday, thanks to a second-half penalty from Vinicius Junior. This result prevented the Spanish champions from suffering their first league defeat of the season.
Vinicius Junior converted a penalty in the 69th minute after Alex Suarez was adjudged to have committed a handball. Real Madrid had earlier fallen behind to a fifth-minute goal from Alberto Moleiro.
The draw marks Real Madrid’s second stalemate in three La Liga matches, leaving them in fourth place in the standings, four points behind rivals Barcelona.
In the day’s other La Liga fixture, Girona defeated Osasuna 4-0. Osasuna was limited to a single shot that did not hit the target, failed to win any corners, and had only two touches in Girona’s penalty area.
Bryan Gil opened the scoring for Girona in the 34th minute. Viktor Tsygankov and Abel Ruiz then scored in quick succession around the 53rd minute, effectively sealing the game. Cristhian Stuani added a fourth goal for Girona in the final moments.
