As anticipation builds for UEFA EURO 2024 in Germany, the UEFA Referees’ Committee has unveiled the esteemed group of officials tasked with overseeing the 51 exhilarating matches of the tournament. A diverse panel of 18 referees, alongside their assistant teams and video match officials, has been meticulously selected to ensure the highest standards of officiating grace the championship.

Adding an international flair to the officiating team, Facundo Tello from Argentina, along with his two assistants, will join the esteemed European referees, continuing the fruitful collaboration between UEFA and the South American Football Confederation CONMEBOL.
“UEFA EURO 2024 is the pinnacle of European national team football with the best teams competing and that’s why we have selected the best referees to officiate these matches,” remarked Roberto Rosetti, UEFA managing director of refereeing. “All chosen referees have performed consistently to the highest standards in UEFA’s top competitions, and also in their domestic competitions. They have prepared exceptionally well to be in this position and we have full confidence in them to show their quality at the final tournament.”
Each match’s refereeing squad will comprise a referee, two assistant referees, a fourth official, a reserve assistant referee stationed at the stadium, and a trio of video match officials. Additionally, designated support match officials will fulfill the role of fourth official during matches, as outlined in the comprehensive list of match officials.
Preparations for UEFA EURO 2024 will include a comprehensive course for all referees, referee assistants, and video match officials, scheduled to take place in Frankfurt, Germany, in mid-May.
Throughout the tournament, referees, referee assistants, and support referees will be stationed at their base camp in Frankfurt. Meanwhile, the video match officials will operate from Leipzig’s International Broadcast Centre, ensuring seamless coordination and effective officiating throughout the championship.
