The Pittsburgh Steelers have secured wide receiver Mike Williams from the New York Jets in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round draft pick, the team confirmed on Tuesday.
Williams, 30, had been on the trade market ever since the Jets brought in Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders in early October.
Signed by New York to a one-year, $10 million deal during the offseason, Williams previously spent seven years with the Los Angeles Chargers after being selected as the seventh overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
This season, Williams has participated in 53% of the Jets’ offensive snaps, catching 12 passes for 166 yards but failing to score any touchdowns. He has had two seasons with over 1,000 receiving yards, with his most recent 1,000-yard season coming in 2021.
Now joining the Steelers, Williams will compete alongside wide receivers George Pickens, Van Jefferson, and Calvin Austin in Pittsburgh’s receiving corps.
The Steelers will take on the Washington Commanders this Sunday.
