The Baltimore Ravens have secured wide receiver Diontae Johnson in a trade with the Carolina Panthers, confirmed by the team on Tuesday.
As part of the trade deal, the Panthers will receive a fifth-round and a sixth-round draft pick in exchange for Johnson, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Johnson, who joined the Panthers for the 2024 season following a five-year stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has recorded 30 receptions, 357 receiving yards, and three touchdowns this season, leading Carolina’s receiving stats.
With Johnson’s addition, he joins the Ravens’ receiving corps, where Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman are currently the top contributors with 527 and 422 receiving yards, respectively. Nelson Agholor follows with 170 yards as the Ravens’ third-leading wide receiver.
Following Johnson’s departure, Carolina rookies Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker are expected to take on more responsibilities in the Panthers’ passing game.
Over his career, Johnson has accumulated 4,720 receiving yards and 28 touchdowns on 421 catches. His standout season was in 2021, where he notched 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns, earning a Pro Bowl selection.
