Following the Dallas Cowboys’ 28-25 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, defensive lineman DeMarcus Lawrence criticized his team’s performance. “We’ve got the guys to do it, so that ain’t the problem. It’s just all about f—–g doing it,” Lawrence stated postgame, as reported by Saad Yousuf of The Athletic.
Lawrence emphasized, “Once we get out of playing little league football and get back to playing pro football, we’ll be alright.” The Cowboys fell behind 28-6 with just over 10 minutes remaining but managed to score 19 points on their next three possessions. However, Lamar Jackson sealed the game with a 10-yard run just after the two-minute warning.
The Cowboys’ defense has struggled during their current two-game losing streak, surrendering a total of 889 yards and 72 points. Star edge rusher Micah Parsons echoed concerns about individual performance, stating, “Right now, we just got people trying to be Superman. People just gotta own their jobs.” He added, “We don’t need any Supermans. We just need 11 guys playing together.”
The Cowboys have also struggled with their rushing attack, amassing only 221 yards on the ground across three games. In contrast, the Ravens rushed for 274 yards on Sunday, highlighted by Derrick Henry’s 151 yards.
This marks the first time Dallas has started a season 1-2 since finishing 6-10 in 2020. The Cowboys will look to bounce back in their upcoming matchup against the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football.
