Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is optimistic about his potential return to play against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Love, who is recovering from a knee injury sustained in the Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, participated in practice on Wednesday for the first time since the injury.
“I’m going to take the week and just take it day by day and see how it feels,” Love said on Wednesday, as reported by Ryan Wood of USA Today. “I’m not going to make any decisions right now. I’m hopeful that I can get to that point where I can get in there, but we’re just going to take it day by day.”
Love missed the Packers’ victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2, during which Malik Willis stepped in as the starting quarterback. Willis completed 12 of 14 passes for 122 yards and rushed for an additional 41 yards. With Love out, the Packers’ game strategy shifted towards a strong ground game, with running back Josh Jacobs rushing for 151 yards on 32 carries.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has expressed optimism about Love’s return, mentioning before Week 2 that Love would not be placed on injured reserve.
If Love is unable to play, Willis will face his former team, the Titans, who traded him to the Packers for a 2025 seventh-round pick in August.
