Tennessee Titans guard Saahdiq Charles has announced his retirement after four seasons in the NFL, according to a statement from the team on Tuesday.
Charles, who was listed as the starting right guard on Tennessee’s depth chart as of Monday, had been participating in first-team drills early in training camp. However, he recently missed practices due to what coach Brian Callahan described as “personal reasons.”
At 25 years old, Charles signed a one-year deal with the Titans during free agency. Prior to joining Tennessee, he spent four seasons with the Washington Commanders, where he started 10 games during the 2023 season.
Following Charles’s retirement, Daniel Brunskill, who was Tennessee’s starting right guard last season, has been listed as the team’s primary center on Monday’s depth chart. The Titans also have guards Dillon Radunz, Lachavious Simmons, and Andrew Rupcich on their roster, alongside 2023 first-round pick Peter Skoronski.
Over the past three seasons, Tennessee has consistently ranked outside the top 20 in sacks allowed per game.
