New England Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore will be sidelined indefinitely due to a diagnosis of blood clots.
In a statement, the team mentioned, “(Barmore) was appropriately treated by the doctors at Mass General Brigham, who tested, evaluated, and treated Christian.” They added, “While there is no current timetable for his return, we know Christian is getting tremendous care and we look forward to his full recovery.”
Barmore, who recently celebrated his 25th birthday, signed a four-year extension worth up to $92 million earlier this offseason.
Drafted 38th overall by the Patriots in the 2021 draft, the 6-foot-5, 315-pound defensive tackle has played 44 career games. He has recorded 133 total tackles, including 18 for a loss, 12.5 sacks, 32 quarterback hits, and one forced fumble.
