The Seattle Seahawks and Pro Bowl safety Julian Love have finalized a three-year contract extension valued at up to $36 million, according to a source cited by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Love, who joined the Seahawks on a two-year deal in 2023, had one year remaining on his initial contract with an $8 million cap hit for 2024.
In his first season with Seattle, the 26-year-old Love earned his first Pro Bowl selection. He recorded 123 tackles and set career highs with 10 pass breakups, four interceptions, and two forced fumbles over 17 games. Love allowed an 82.2 passer rating on 69 targets in coverage.
Prior to joining the Seahawks, Love spent his first four NFL seasons with the New York Giants, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2019 Draft.
As a key defensive starter for Seattle last season, Love is expected to be a major contributor to the team’s secondary under first-year head coach Mike Macdonald in 2024.
