Michigan has officially completed its contract agreement with head coach Sherrone Moore, as announced on Wednesday.
Moore expressed his gratitude in a statement, saying, “Our University of Michigan administration, led by President Santa Ono and Athletic Director Warde Manuel, has been tremendous throughout this process, and I am excited to have this full contract completed. Their support for our team is greatly appreciated, and all three of us are aligned in our goals for this football program.”
In a joint statement, President Santa Ono and Athletic Director Warde Manuel remarked, “He is a proven leader and has been a great ambassador during his seven-plus years representing Michigan.”
The contract, agreed upon in January, spans five years with a base value of $500,000, in addition to $5 million in compensation for the first year of the deal, as reported by ESPN’s Jake Trotter. Moore, who was promoted from offensive coordinator following Jim Harbaugh’s departure to the NFL, had been working under a memorandum of understanding since January.
Moore served as the Wolverines’ interim head coach for the last three games of the 2023 season after Harbaugh was suspended due to a sign-stealing scandal.
The Wolverines are currently 1-1 this season after their 23-game home win streak ended last weekend. They are set to face Arkansas State on Saturday.
