The Los Angeles Dodgers secured the National League’s No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the NLCS after the Philadelphia Phillies suffered a 6-3 defeat against the Washington Nationals on Saturday.
With this achievement, Los Angeles will also conclude the season with the best record in Major League Baseball, ensuring home-field advantage in any potential World Series matchup. This marks the fourth time since 2017 that the Dodgers have claimed the highest number of wins in the majors.
As for the Phillies, they are now confirmed as the NL’s No. 2 seed and will face the winner of the 3-6 wild-card series in the NL Division Series (NLDS). Meanwhile, the Dodgers are set to take on either the No. 4 or No. 5 seed in the division series.
Both division series are scheduled to commence on October 5.
