Shohei Ohtani was nearly struck by a stray baseball during Wednesday’s series finale at Guaranteed Rate Field against the White Sox.
However, a quick-thinking Dodgers’ batboy intervened, making a remarkable catch to prevent Ohtani from being hit.
In addition to this memorable moment, Ohtani had an impressive series during the Dodgers’ trip to the South Side, where they swept the White Sox. Ohtani went 3-for-9 at the plate, hitting two home runs, and racking up four RBIs and four runs.
Ohtani also set a Dodgers franchise record by recording his 10th consecutive game with at least one RBI on Wednesday with his solo home run to start the game. This achievement makes him the first Dodger to reach this milestone and the first player since Matt Kemp, who had a nine-game streak between the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
