Profar, who recently led All-Star Game outfielder voting, hit his fourth career grand slam off Derek Law, clearing the bases with a shot just inside the foul pole in right field. Manny Machado also contributed with a two-run homer in the same inning off MacKenzie Gore, who was making his MLB debut with the Padres.
The game escalated in the first inning when a benches-clearing incident occurred after Washington’s Keibert Ruiz confronted Profar at the plate. Umpires issued warnings, and tensions briefly flared again later when Gore hit Profar with a pitch, leading to the ejection of Padres manager Mike Shildt.

Adam Mazur earned his first MLB win, pitching five innings and allowing four runs on six hits. Robert Suarez secured his 20th save of the season.
The Padres, who had trailed 4-2, regained the lead in the fifth inning on RBI hits by Jake Cronenworth and Donovan Solano. CJ Abrams added three hits and an RBI in the win.
The victory came after Profar’s heroics in Monday’s game, where he hit a walk-off single in the 10th inning. Despite controversy over his celebrations, Profar remained focused on contributing to his team’s success.
