Jhonattan Vegas secured victory at the 3M Open in Minnesota on Sunday, finishing with a birdie on the final hole to edge out Max Greyserman by a single stroke. Vegas made a crucial two-putt for birdie on No. 18 after nearly making an eagle from nearly 100 feet away. His three-foot tap-in confirmed his win.
This triumph marks Vegas’s fourth PGA TOUR title and his first since his second consecutive Canadian Open win in 2017. His first PGA TOUR victory came at the Bob Hope Classic in 2011.
Greyserman, who carded an 8-under 63 in the final round, was the clubhouse leader upon completing his round. However, Vegas’s birdies on Nos. 15 and 18, coupled with pars on the following holes, secured the win.
In the third round, Vegas birdied six of the last eight holes, taking a one-shot lead over Matt Kuchar into the final round. Kuchar finished even par on Sunday and ended two shots behind Vegas, tying for third with Maverick McNealy.
Taylor Pendrith led after two rounds but shot a 73 on Saturday before bouncing back with a 67 in the final round to finish fifth.
Jacob Bridgeman and Mackenzie Hughes, who were in first and second place after Round 1, both struggled and ended tied for 19th at 10-under.
