Nelly Korda, the world’s top-ranked female golfer, has announced her withdrawal from the upcoming Aramco Team Series event in Hemel Hempstead, England, citing a dog bite incident that occurred recently.
The 25-year-old American, scheduled to defend her title at the Centurion Club, part of the Ladies European Tour, revealed the incident on social media. “On Saturday in Seattle, I was bitten by a dog and need time to receive treatment and recover fully,” she stated.
Expressing regret for her absence, Korda extended apologies to the LET, sponsors, and fans, thanking them for their understanding. She reassured her supporters of her eagerness to return to competitive play soon.
Korda boasts a stellar record with 14 victories on the LPGA Tour, including her recent triumph at the Chevron Championship in April, where she secured her second major title.
The Aramco Team Series is scheduled to take place from July 3-5, maintaining its place on the golfing calendar despite Korda’s withdrawal.
