Ian Darke will team up with Landon Donovan as Fox’s lead broadcast pair for the upcoming European Championship, while John Strong and Stu Holden will cover the Copa America. Given the overlap between these tournaments, Fox announced on Thursday that it will employ seven announcing teams.
Darke, a veteran ESPN broadcaster who began collaborating with Fox during the 2022 World Cup alongside Donovan, is among the seven British broadcasters across Fox’s four Euro 2024 announce teams.
Jacqui Oatley will reunite with Warren Barton, echoing their partnership from the 2022 World Cup. Derek Rae will work with former England goalkeeper Robert Green, and Darren Fletcher will team up with former England midfielder Owen Hargreaves. Fletcher, a seasoned British broadcaster, previously worked for Fox during the 2019 Yankees-Red Sox games in London, not with Hargreaves’ former Manchester United teammate.
All four teams will be stationed in Germany for the European Championship, which will take place from June 14 to July 14.
Meanwhile, Strong and Holden, who served as Fox’s lead commentators for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, will be on-site for all U.S. national team matches in the Copa America, held in the U.S. from June 20 to July 14. The U.S. is one of the invited guests in the 16-team South American championship.
JP Dellacamera will pair with Cobi Jones, his partner from the 2022 World Cup, and Luis Omar Tapia will join former American midfielder Maurice Edu. Tapia joined Fox this year after a decade with Univision.
Dellacamera and Jones will call matches both from the stadiums and Fox’s Los Angeles studio, while Tapia and Edu will be based in Los Angeles.
Former referees Mark Clattenburg and Joe Machnik will serve as rules analysts.
The finals of both tournaments will take place on July 14, with the Euro 2024 championship in Berlin starting at 3 p.m. EDT, followed by the Copa America final in Miami Gardens, Florida, at 8 p.m. EDT.
