Borussia Dortmund’s defender, Nico Schlotterbeck, has secured a spot in Germany’s Euro 2024 squad, as confirmed by a source within the German Football Federation (DFB) to ARD broadcasters on Sunday.
Head coach Julian Nagelsmann is set to unveil the roster for the upcoming home tournament on Thursday.
Schlotterbeck’s last appearance for Germany was in September 2023, during a 4-1 loss to Japan under former coach Hansi Flick. Notably, this marks his first call-up under Nagelsmann’s management.
The defender has played a pivotal role in Dortmund’s journey to the Champions League final against Real Madrid, scheduled for June 1 at Wembley.
If selected for the Euro 2024 squad, Schlotterbeck will be absent from the friendly fixture against Ukraine on June 3.
In preparation for the tournament, Germany is also slated to face Greece in a friendly on June 7, leading up to their Euro 2024 opener against Scotland on June 14.
