Endrick scored on his Real Madrid debut as Carlo Ancelotti’s team secured their first La Liga victory of the season with a 3-0 home win against Real Valladolid.
Real Madrid faced prolonged frustration, especially during Kylian Mbappe’s home debut, but broke through when Federico Valverde scored in the 50th minute. Valverde’s low shot, which deflected heavily off Stanko Juric, found the back of the net past Valladolid goalkeeper Karl Hein.
Substitute Brahim Diaz extended Madrid’s lead to 2-0 in the 88th minute, after collecting a long ball from Eder Militao and lifting it over Hein.
Endrick, the 18-year-old Brazilian striker, added the final touch to the scoreline by powering a shot inside the near post in the last minute of added time.
Real Madrid struggled in the first half as Valladolid maintained a deep defensive setup, limiting space and neutralizing threats from Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., and Rodrygo. The game opened up in the second half, with Valladolid’s pursuit of an equalizer creating more opportunities for Madrid.
Mbappe, despite making several good runs, was unable to score in his home debut. Real Madrid, who had drawn 1-1 with Mallorca in their La Liga opener, will next face Las Palmas on Thursday at 20:30 BST.
Endrick’s highly anticipated debut lasted just over 10 minutes, but he made an impact. The forward, who agreed to join Real Madrid in December 2022, officially arrived in July this year due to FIFA regulations prohibiting players under 18 from moving abroad.
While much attention has been on Mbappe, Endrick has also attracted significant interest as a promising young talent and the youngest player ever to score for Brazil. His brief appearance against Valladolid was notable, demonstrating a new dynamism and effective link-up play, especially in contrast to Mbappe’s struggles.
