Chelsea has officially signed Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £54 million. The 24-year-old forward has committed to a seven-year contract with the club, extending through 2031.
Neto was introduced to Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge during halftime of a friendly match against Inter Milan on Sunday. “I feel really grateful to have joined this club,” said Neto. “I have worked really hard in my career to be here and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this shirt.”
Chelsea reached an agreement with Wolves on Friday after two prior bids were turned down. The deal includes an initial payment of £51.3 million, with an additional £2.6 million in potential add-ons.
Neto, who arrived at Wolves from Lazio in 2019, recorded 14 goals in 135 appearances during his time in the Midlands. This transfer marks a record sale for Wolves, surpassing the £47 million they received from Al-Hilal in 2023 for Ruben Neves.
With Neto’s signing, Chelsea’s summer spending now totals approximately £185 million. The club has also acquired several other players, including midfielders Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga, and Omari Kellyman; goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen; defenders Tosin Adarabioyo, Aaron Anselmino, and Caleb Wiley; winger Estevao Willian; and striker Marc Guiu.
Chelsea is also reportedly in talks to sign Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion and Genk goalkeeper Mike Penders in the coming days.
