Liverpool have turned down an £11.8m offer from Marseille for midfielder Wataru Endo. The Japan international, who is 31 years old, joined Liverpool on a four-year contract from Stuttgart for approximately £16.2m last August.
During his debut season at Anfield, Endo made 43 appearances, including 20 Premier League starts, and helped the team win the League Cup.
Marseille’s approach was led by manager Roberto de Zerbi, who faced Endo when he was in charge of Brighton last season. Liverpool are also aware of additional interest in Endo from other German clubs.
The Reds have not yet made any new signings this summer following the appointment of manager Arne Slot.
