Bournemouth have secured a deal with Juventus for defender Dean Huijsen, agreeing to a transfer fee of £12.6 million. The total cost of the transfer could increase to £15.2 million. Huijsen, a 19-year-old centre-back, is scheduled to undergo a medical examination with Bournemouth.
This move will make Huijsen Bournemouth’s sixth signing of the summer, joining Luis Sinisterra, Enes Unal, Alex Paulsen, Daniel Jebbison, and Koby Mottoh.
Born in the Netherlands, Huijsen represented the Dutch national teams up to the Under-19 level. He relocated to Spain at the age of five and obtained Spanish citizenship this year, making his Under-21 debut in March.
Huijsen began his football career at Costa Unida and transferred to Malaga in 2015. He joined Juventus three years ago, initially playing for their Under-17 squad. He made his senior debut against AC Milan in October, which was his only appearance for Juventus. Huijsen spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Roma, where he made 13 appearances and scored twice.
