Everton have completed the signing of Senegalese forward Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille on a five-year contract for a fee understood to be around £15 million.
The 24-year-old joined Marseille from Sheffield United last summer, where he made a significant impact with four goals in 46 appearances, aiding the club in reaching the Europa League semi-finals.
“He is still young but has experience at European and international levels, and we believe he will bring a positive dimension to our squad,” commented Everton manager Sean Dyche.
Sheffield United reluctantly accepted a reported £20 million offer for Ndiaye, following his impressive contributions of 14 goals and 11 assists in their promotion-winning Championship campaign in 2022-23.
Ndiaye initially joined Sheffield United from non-league side Boreham Wood in 2019, having previously been part of the Marseille academy before moving to Senegal, his father’s homeland.
Ndiaye becomes Everton’s third signing of the summer, joining winger Jack Harrison on a season-long loan from Leeds and midfielder Tim Iroegbunam on a permanent transfer from Aston Villa.
“I was drawn to Everton by the club’s stature, history, and the role I can play in its forward trajectory,” said Ndiaye, who has earned 20 caps for his national team.
“I’m incredibly excited. It will be an honor to be part of Goodison Park’s final season,” he added.
Kevin Thelwell, Everton’s director of football, expressed his satisfaction with the signing: “Iliman is a player we’ve admired for some time, and we’re thrilled to bring his sought-after quality to Everton. We believe he will excite our fans and provide a new dimension to our attack.”
