Lando Norris of McLaren clinched victory at the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday, finishing nearly 23 seconds ahead of his nearest rival at the Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
Norris’ win interrupted Max Verstappen’s bid for a fourth consecutive Dutch GP victory. Verstappen, representing Red Bull, finished in second place, while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took third to complete the podium.
Starting from pole position, Norris achieved his second win of the 2024 Formula 1 season. This is McLaren’s first win at Zandvoort since Niki Lauda’s triumph in 1985.
The 22.8-second gap between Norris and Verstappen is the largest margin of victory in the 2024 season. Verstappen’s current run without a win extends to five races, marking his longest winless streak since 2020. Despite this, he remains the leader in the drivers’ standings.
McLaren has reduced its deficit to Red Bull in the constructors’ championship to 30 points. Norris’ teammate, Oscar Piastri, finished in fourth place.
