The Philadelphia 76ers have reached an agreement with Guerschon Yabusele, a standout player from France, on a one-year deal worth $2.1 million, according to sources reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Yabusele is in the process of resolving a $2.5-million contract buyout with Real Madrid, which, once finalized, would allow him to leave the Spanish club and return to the NBA, as reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Yabusele, who was selected in the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft, attracted attention from several teams after his strong showing at the Olympics, according to Charania. During France’s silver-medal run, he averaged 14 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Notably, Yabusele scored 22 points in France’s quarterfinal victory over Canada and added 20 points in the gold-medal game against the United States. His performance earned him a spot on the All-Second Team for the tournament.
Yabusele’s previous NBA experience includes 74 appearances with the Boston Celtics, where he averaged 2.3 points in 6.6 minutes per game. Since then, he has revitalized his career overseas, earning All-Star recognition in the Chinese Basketball Association and securing a EuroLeague championship.
