Veteran point guard Reggie Jackson was waived by the Charlotte Hornets, as announced by the team. Upon clearing waivers, Jackson intends to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources informed ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Jackson, 34, played last season with the Denver Nuggets before being traded to the Hornets on Day 2 of the NBA draft. He had one year remaining on his contract worth $5.3 million.
During his time with the Nuggets last season, Jackson averaged 10.2 points and 3.8 assists. He was part of the team that won the NBA championship in 2023. Over his 13-season career, Jackson holds averages of 12.6 points and 4.2 assists.
In addition to Jackson, the 76ers made a significant move by signing nine-time All-Star Paul George. George and Jackson were teammates with the Los Angeles Clippers from 2020 to 2023.
Philadelphia has also bolstered their roster by adding veterans Caleb Martin, Eric Gordon, and Andre Drummond through free agency. The franchise has re-signed Tyrese Maxey, Kelly Oubre, Kyle Lowry, and KJ Martin.
