The Boston Celtics have signed Sam Hauser to a four-year, $45 million contract extension, as confirmed by his agent to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Hauser, who had one year and $2 million remaining on his rookie deal, will now remain with the Celtics through the 2028-29 season.
During the 2024 postseason, the 6-foot-8 forward played a significant role off the bench, averaging 5.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game while shooting 38% from three-point range.
In his three-year career, Hauser has been a notable 3-point shooter, making 42% of his attempts from beyond the arc.
This move continues the Celtics’ effort to retain key players from their championship roster. Following the title win, Jayson Tatum secured the league’s most expensive contract, and Derrick White, Luke Kornet, Xavier Tillman, and Neemias Queta all signed new deals this offseason. Additionally, point guard Jrue Holiday agreed to a four-year extension with Boston in April.
The Celtics are expected to incur the league’s largest luxury tax and team salary expenses, according to Wojnarowski.
