Miami Heat’s Alondes Williams, having played eight NBA games—one with the Brooklyn Nets in 2023 and seven with the Heat in 2024—showcased his skills in the Summer League on Wednesday.
During Miami’s 92–79 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, Williams, with 8:27 remaining in the fourth quarter, opted to drive to the basket instead of passing at the three-point line, delivering a commanding dunk over Mavericks guard AJ Lawson. The emphatic slam, celebrated as “the dunk of the summer” by commentators, propelled the Heat to a three-point lead.
Williams, previously chosen for the Rising Stars Challenge in February, contributed nine points, three rebounds, and five assists in 22 minutes off the bench. Miami extended their Summer League record to 3–0 with this win, while Dallas fell to 0–3 in the tournament.
