The Philadelphia 76ers have re-signed veteran guard Kyle Lowry to a one-year contract, as confirmed by his agent to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Thursday.
Lowry, an 18-year NBA veteran, joined the 76ers midway through last season after being acquired and subsequently waived by the Charlotte Hornets following his trade from the Miami Heat.
During his tenure with the 76ers, the 38-year-old Lowry averaged eight points per game, contributed 4.6 assists, and achieved a 40.4% success rate from three-point range. He was a starter in all six of the team’s playoff games.
Lowry’s career highlights include six All-Star appearances and winning the 2019 NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors.
Philadelphia’s roster has seen significant changes this offseason, with only superstar Joel Embiid and reserve Ricky Council remaining from last season’s lineup without entering free agency.
The team’s most notable addition is Paul George, acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers on a maximum contract.
With Lowry, George, and fellow free-agency signings Eric Gordon and Andre Drummond, all having over a decade of NBA experience, the 76ers now boast one of the league’s most veteran rosters.
