The Boston Celtics have secured guard Derrick White with a substantial four-year, $125.9 million contract extension, sources confirmed to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
According to Wojnarowski, this deal represents the maximum extension available for White and includes a player option.
Boston recently clinched their 18th NBA championship in June, defeating the Dallas Mavericks in five games.
During the 2023-24 regular season, White maintained solid averages of 15.2 points, 5.2 assists, 4.2 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, and one steal per game. In the playoffs, he contributed 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game.
White, originally from Parker, Colorado, joined the Celtics in February 2022 via a trade from the San Antonio Spurs. He made his NBA Finals debut later that year but fell short against the Golden State Warriors. White has been a consistent starter for Boston since the beginning of the 2022-23 season.
Additionally, White has been honored twice as a member of the NBA’s All-Defensive team.
