The Washington Wizards have finalized a trade sending forward Deni Avdija to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for guard Malcolm Brogdon and the 14th overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft, sources confirmed to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
As part of the deal, Portland will also convey their second-most favorable 2029 first-round pick and include second-round selections in 2028 and 2030, according to reports from The Athletic’s Josh Robbins.
Avdija, who finished sixth in last season’s Most Improved Player voting, posted averages of 14.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists during his tenure with the Wizards. He signed a four-year, $55-million contract last offseason.
Meanwhile, Brogdon, a former Sixth Man of the Year winner, appeared in 39 games for Portland last season, averaging 15.7 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.8 rebounds before missing the remainder of the season due to an elbow injury.
Washington, which finished 15-67 and secured the 14th spot in the Eastern Conference last season, now holds the 2nd and 26th picks in the upcoming draft.
