Stephen Curry returned to action for the Golden State Warriors in their game against the Washington Wizards on Monday, following a three-game absence due to an ankle injury.
The Warriors, with a 5-1 record, were able to secure victories in all three games Curry missed. They defeated the New Orleans Pelicans twice at home and went on to beat the Houston Rockets in overtime on the road.
Curry, 36, has averaged 18.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists in three games this season.
The 10-time All-Star sustained the ankle injury late in the third quarter of the Warriors’ 112-104 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, which remains their only defeat of the season. An MRI showed no structural damage to the ankle.
Throughout his 16-year NBA career, Curry has faced multiple ankle injuries. Notably, during the 2011-12 season, which was shortened due to the lockout, he missed 40 of the 66 games because of a similar injury that required surgery.
