In a preview of an upcoming episode of “The Shop,” set to air Thursday, Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James discussed a key decision regarding his son, Lakers guard Bronny James.
LeBron James made it clear that while on the court, Bronny will not be permitted to call him “Dad.” The elder James stated, “No, we already laid that. Cannot call me ‘Dad’ in the workplace. Once we leave out of the private facility and the gates close, I can be ‘Dad’ again. In the car if we ride together, at home, I can be ‘Dad.'”
The live audience in Paris reacted with laughter as LeBron suggested alternative names for his son to use on the court. He said, “No, he got to call me, like, ‘2-3’ or ‘Bron,’ or you know, ‘GOAT’ if he want to. It’s up to him.”
The Jameses are anticipated to make NBA history as the first father and son duo to share the court this season. LeBron expressed his readiness for this milestone, noting, “We cannot be running down the court, and he be like ‘Dad, push the ball up!’ ‘Dad, I’m open! Dad, come on!’ You cannot do that.”
