Bronny James is set to divide his time between the Los Angeles Lakers and their G League affiliate after the team’s road trip concludes on November 6, according to sources from ESPN’s Shams Charania and Dave McMenamin.
Bronny made his professional debut on Tuesday during the Lakers’ regular-season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He entered the game four minutes into the second quarter alongside his father, LeBron James, marking the first instance of a father-son duo competing in an NBA game.
In his brief two-minute appearance, Bronny missed both of his shot attempts.
Prior to the NBA draft, Bronny’s agent, Rich Paul, indicated that he would not pursue a two-way contract for his client. The Lakers selected Bronny as the 55th overall pick in this year’s draft, signing him to a reported four-year, $7.9 million contract, which is fully guaranteed with a team option for the final year.
During the Summer League, Bronny expressed his eagerness to play at any level, including the G League. The USC product averaged 8.8 points on 35% shooting, along with 3.5 rebounds and one assist per game across four appearances in Las Vegas.
