Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is anticipated to start in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to sources cited by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Herbert has been listed as questionable due to an ankle injury that he re-aggravated during the Chargers’ recent loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Throughout the week, he was a limited participant in practice.
The Chargers will also be without starting offensive tackle Rashawn Slater, who is sidelined with a pectoral injury. Additionally, pass-rusher Joey Bosa is out after suffering a hip injury in Week 3. Rookie offensive tackle Joe Alt is doubtful to play due to a reported MCL sprain.
The Chargers’ passing game has struggled this season, currently ranking 31st in both passing yards and pass attempts per game. However, Herbert has shown efficiency when needed, completing 67% of his passes for a total of 399 yards, with four touchdowns and one interception.
In recent years, Kansas City has dominated this divisional rivalry, winning the last five matchups. Herbert holds a record of 2-5 in seven starts against the Chiefs.
