The Philadelphia Phillies have secured the National League East championship for the first time since 2011, following a 6-2 victory against the Chicago Cubs on Monday.

After taking the lead in the division on May 3, the Phillies maintained a margin of at least five games for 143 consecutive days, solidifying their position atop the standings.
This marks the franchise’s third consecutive postseason appearance. In 2022, the Phillies reached the World Series but fell to the Houston Astros. Last season, they were eliminated by the Arizona Diamondbacks in a seven-game National League Championship Series.
With the NL East title in hand, the Phillies now focus on securing the top playoff seed in their league. They are currently tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers, each boasting 93 wins. However, the Phillies hold the tiebreaker advantage if both teams finish the regular season with identical records.
