Dalvin Cook, a four-time Pro Bowl running back, is scheduled to visit the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Cook, who spent most of last season with the New York Jets, had 67 rushing attempts for 214 yards but did not make a significant impact. After parting ways with the Jets, Cook joined the Baltimore Ravens for the playoffs.
Cook’s NFL career began with the Minnesota Vikings, where he played six seasons and established himself as a top running back.
From 2019 to 2022, he averaged 1,883 scrimmage yards and 13 total touchdowns per 17 games. Despite struggling with injuries throughout his career, Cook has reported that he is in his best shape in years this season.
The Cowboys are addressing their running back needs with Week 1 approaching. After losing Tony Pollard in free agency, they have re-signed veteran Ezekiel Elliott and added Cook to their roster. The team’s current running back depth chart includes Rico Dowdle, Royce Freeman, and Deuce Vaughn, among others.
