The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, as announced by the team on Monday.
Smith-Schuster, who spent the 2022 season with the Chiefs, returned to Kansas City after a brief stint with the New England Patriots in 2023. The Patriots released the 27-year-old wide receiver earlier this offseason.
In his time with the Patriots, Smith-Schuster struggled, recording 260 yards and one touchdown on 29 receptions over 11 games.
His performance in New England contrasted with his more productive season with the Chiefs in 2022, where he logged 78 receptions for 933 yards and three touchdowns. Additionally, he contributed 10 catches for 89 yards during the Chiefs’ playoff run, which culminated in a victory at Super Bowl LVII.
Smith-Schuster, a product of USC, has accumulated 5,048 yards and 30 touchdowns on 430 receptions across 90 career games, playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, and New England Patriots.
