Cole Palmer has signed a new contract with Chelsea, extending his stay at Stamford Bridge until 2033. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has agreed to a nine-year deal with enhanced terms following a standout debut season in West London.
During his first season at Chelsea, Palmer scored 25 goals and provided 15 assists in 45 appearances, having joined the club from Manchester City for £42.5 million last summer.
The new deal comes as a reward for Palmer, who also scored in England’s 2-1 Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain in July. The extension is set to be officially announced in the coming days.
Palmer is nominated for the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards, which will be announced next week in Salford. He also won the Premier League Young Player of the Season award for the 2023-24 season.
Chelsea will open their Premier League season against Manchester City on Sunday. The match will see manager Enzo Maresca face his former club, where he won the Treble in the 2022-23 season as an assistant to Pep Guardiola. Last season, Maresca led Leicester City to the Premier League by winning the Championship title.
