Brentford have officially signed winger Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool in a deal valued at £27.5 million, which includes add-ons.
The 21-year-old player, who spent the previous season on loan at both RB Leipzig and Hull City, has committed to a five-year contract with an option for an additional year.
Liverpool will receive an initial fee of £22.5 million and have successfully negotiated a 17.5% sell-on clause for future transfers.
Fulham, the club that sold Carvalho to Liverpool in 2022, will benefit from 20% of the profit generated from his transfer to Brentford.
Brentford successfully outmaneuvered Southampton, who had a £15 million bid rejected by Liverpool, to secure Carvalho’s signature.
During his time at Anfield, Carvalho faced challenges in making a significant impact, netting three goals in 21 competitive appearances.
He initially joined Leipzig at the beginning of the 2023-24 season on a loan deal, but returned to Liverpool in December after primarily coming off the bench. Subsequently, he moved to Championship side Hull City.
At Hull, Carvalho excelled, scoring nine goals in 20 matches as the team narrowly missed out on the play-offs.
