Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has confirmed his intention to remain at the club after declining a move to Saudi Arabia. The 27-year-old Brazilian forward joined Spurs from Everton in 2022 for a club-record fee of £60 million and has since netted 15 goals in 66 appearances.
Although Richarlison was not always a starter last season under manager Ange Postecoglou, he has drawn interest from several clubs in Saudi Arabia, with one unnamed team reportedly making a bid. However, Richarlison emphasizes his desire to stay in England to enhance his prospects of continuing his international career with Brazil.
“There has been an offer but my dream of playing for the Brazilian Selecao and in the Premier League speaks louder,” Richarlison stated in an interview with ESPN Brazil.
In the meantime, Tottenham is looking to bolster their attacking options this summer and has identified Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke as a potential target. Solanke had a productive season, scoring 21 goals in 42 games for Bournemouth but was not selected for England’s Euro 2024 squad.
Bournemouth is eager to retain Solanke, who has a £65 million release clause in his contract, which runs for three more years. However, Tottenham is considering a bid lower than the release clause for the striker.
