Atletico Madrid are engaged in discussions with Chelsea regarding the potential transfer of midfielder Conor Gallagher. The 24-year-old is currently on holiday after representing England at Euro 2024 in Germany.
As of now, Gallagher has not yet agreed on personal terms with the Spanish club and may need persuasion to finalize the move. However, Chelsea is reportedly open to selling Gallagher, who is entering the final year of his contract.
Exploratory talks have occurred this summer to extend his contract, but it remains uncertain whether the terms offered will be sufficient to retain Gallagher, who joined Chelsea at the age of six.
Last summer, both Tottenham and West Ham expressed interest in Gallagher, but there has been limited speculation regarding a potential move to another Premier League club this year.
Chelsea’s new manager, Enzo Maresca, addressed Gallagher’s future before a match against Club America in Atlanta, stating, “The transfer window is open so unfortunately something can happen, not only with Conor, but all the players.”
In addition, Chelsea has shown interest in Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion. However, Omorodion is currently focused on the Olympics with Spain and is not open to transfer offers at this time. Chelsea has reportedly had at least one bid for the striker turned down this summer.
