The Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired reliever A.J. Puk from the Miami Marlins, as reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
In exchange, the Marlins will receive two of Arizona’s top-30 prospects: Deyvison De Los Santos, ranked No. 14, and Andrew Pintar, ranked No. 30, according to The Arizona Republic’s Nick Piecoro.
Puk is expected to strengthen the Diamondbacks’ bullpen, which is in need of high-leverage arms. This season, Puk has a 4.30 ERA but has not allowed any earned runs in his last 16 2/3 innings, during which he struck out 25 batters.
The 29-year-old Puk is under contract through the 2026 season.
