American rapper Snoop Dogg has been selected as one of the final torchbearers for the Olympic flame leading up to the opening ceremony in Paris this Friday.
At 52 years old, Snoop Dogg will carry the torch through Saint-Denis, located in the northern part of Paris. This area is notable for being the site of the Stade de France, where various Olympic events will take place.
The Saint-Denis segment of the torch relay is the penultimate leg before the flame reaches its final destination at the Eiffel Tower.
Since its journey began in May, the Olympic torch has traversed France and been carried by a range of notable figures, including former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger, Formula One driver Charles Leclerc, and actress Halle Berry.
Snoop Dogg, whose full name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., hails from Los Angeles, which will host the 2028 Summer Olympics.
In Saint-Denis, Snoop Dogg will be joined by fellow torchbearers, including French actress Laetitia Casta and French rapper MC Solaar.
