Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving recently underwent surgery for a broken left hand sustained during training earlier this month, according to insider Marc Stein.
The Mavericks have not disclosed a specific timeline for Irving’s recovery but assured that updates on his condition will follow in due course.
Irving, 32, averaged 25.6 points, 5.2 assists, and five rebounds across 58 games for Dallas last season. Alongside Luka Doncic, he played a pivotal role in guiding the team to its first NBA Finals appearance in 13 years.
During the season, Irving faced intermittent absences due to unrelated injuries. A right heel contusion sidelined him for 12 consecutive games in December, followed by a thumb sprain on his right hand which caused him to miss six games the following month.
