The Tennessee Titans have signed veteran safety Jamal Adams, as announced by the team on Thursday.
Adams has agreed to a one-year contract with Tennessee, confirmed by his agents to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The 28-year-old brings a seasoned presence to the Titans’ secondary, having begun his career with the New York Jets before a trade to the Seahawks, where he spent four seasons.
Injuries have affected Adams’ recent seasons, including missing most of 2023 due to a concussion. In 2024, he contributed 48 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and two QB hits in nine games.
During his tenure with the Seahawks, Adams missed 33 of 67 regular-season games. Following a standout 2020 season with 9.5 sacks, his subsequent performances did not match that impact.
The Titans have actively reshaped their roster under new head coach Brian Callahan, acquiring cornerbacks L’Jarius Sneed and Chidobe Awuzie earlier this year to strengthen their defense.
Tennessee is optimistic about reuniting Adams with defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson, who coached him during his All-Pro year in 2019 with the Jets.
Adams joins safeties Amani Hooker and Elijah Molden in the Titans’ lineup. Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 213 pounds, he is set to compete for a starting role when training camp commences on July 23rd.
