Bayern Munich has strengthened its attack with the acquisition of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, as confirmed by the Bundesliga club on Sunday.
The French winger finalized the transfer by agreeing to a long-term contract with Bayern, extending until June 2029.
Crystal Palace has agreed to part ways with Olise for an initial fee of £45 million, with additional £5 million in potential add-ons, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The deal also includes a sell-on clause.
“I’m very happy to now be playing for such a big club,” Olise expressed in a statement on Bayern’s official website. “It’s a great challenge, and that’s exactly what I was looking for. I want to prove myself at this level and play my part in ensuring that we win as many titles as possible with our team in the coming years.”
Despite interest from Chelsea and Newcastle, the 22-year-old winger chose Bayern Munich, reportedly influenced by the opportunity to work under new Bayern boss Vincent Kompany, as reported by BBC Sport’s Simon Stone.
During his three-year tenure at Crystal Palace, Olise featured in 90 matches across all competitions, notably achieving 10 goals and six assists in 19 appearances during his standout season last year.
He was also selected to represent France at the upcoming Olympics in Paris.
