Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry has been sidelined for the remainder of the season and is at risk of missing Germany’s Euro 2024 campaign due to a hamstring injury, the club confirmed on Friday.
Gnabry exited the field during Wednesday’s 2-1 Champions League semi-final defeat against Real Madrid after just 27 minutes of play.
Following medical assessment, Bayern Munich disclosed that the 28-year-old forward has sustained a tear in his left hamstring, ruling him out for the remainder of the current season.
With only two Bundesliga fixtures left on Bayern’s schedule, Gnabry’s absence casts doubt over his availability for Germany’s opening Euro 2024 match against Scotland in Munich on June 14.
Throughout the current season, former Arsenal player Gnabry has faced a series of injury setbacks, resulting in his omission from Julian Nagelsmann’s recent Germany squad.
Gnabry’s injury concerns date back to April when he was forced off the field during Bayern’s Champions League quarter-final clash against his former club. He returned to action for the semi-final encounter with Real Madrid, only to sustain another injury setback.
The 28-year-old forward has grappled with various injuries this season, including a broken arm suffered in September and subsequent muscle injuries that have seen him miss a total of 15 matches since December.
Gnabry boasts an impressive international record, having represented Germany on 45 occasions and netted 22 goals for his country.
