The Miami Heat used their dazzling long-range shooting skills to hit 23 three-pointers in Game 2 against the Celtics, defeating the Boston Celtics 111-101. Broke the team’s record for three-pointers made in the playoffs.
The defining moment came with 5:37 remaining in the fourth quarter when Jaime Jaquez Jr. buried Miami’s 21st triple of the night, etching a new milestone in the team’s storied history. Throughout the game, the Heat sizzled from beyond the arc, converting an impressive 23 of 43 attempts.
This phenomenal performance shattered Miami’s previous playoff record of 20 treys, established back on May 22, 2021, in a showdown against the Milwaukee Bucks. Although falling just shy of tying the all-time franchise record of 24 3-pointers in any game, set during a clash with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Dec. 14, 2022, the Heat’s prowess from downtown was nothing short of breathtaking.
Leading the charge was Tyler Herro, who ignited the offensive onslaught with six triples, showcasing his lethal shooting touch. Following closely behind was Caleb Martin, whose five 3-pointers added fuel to Miami’s fiery performance. Remarkably, six Heat players contributed at least two triples each.
As the Heat continue their quest for postseason glory, their record-breaking display serves as a testament to their formidable outside shooting and unwavering determination to dominate the competition.
